In the Community

We are deeply rooted in the local community and proud of our involvement:

Maria McManus is a Shadyside Chamber of Commerce member and a member of Independent Shadyside — the grassroots Shadyside independent storeowners group founded in 2010 and responsible for the popular Shadyside Style Walks. Independent Shadyside works to promote all that the Shadyside Independent storeowners have to offer the ever-growing, vibrant Pittsburgh fashion community.

Pursuits is honored to support POWER (the Pennsylvania Organization for Women in Early Recovery). Each year, beginning the day after Thanksgiving and ending December 31st, Pursuits accepts gently used handbags, donating them to POWER in order to help give a fresh start to recovering women. Customers donating a gently used handbag during this period receive 20% off any handbag of their choice sold in Pursuits.

Pursuits also enjoys supporting local handy craft artists. Most recently, we proudly offer Rachel’s Cure by Design jewelry. Rachel, a local artist and inspiration, designs a unique collection of handmade beaded bracelets, donating a portion of the proceeds to the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation (JDRF). Rachel was diagnosed with Type One diabetes in 2005, and has donated over $30,000 to the JDRF.
